About Judge Bull Judge Diane Bull was elected as presiding judge of Harris County Criminal Court at Law No. 11 in November, 1994 and took the bench on January 1, 1995. She presides over one of fifteen county criminal courts at law with countywide jurisdiction over serious misdemeanor cases such as driving while intoxicated, domestic violence, illegal possession of drugs, criminal pollution, and theft. Judge Bull is a third generation honors graduate of Texas A & M University, and thereafter received her J.D. from Baylor Law School. Prior to her election to County Criminal Court at Law #11 in November, 1994, Judge Bull spent five of her twenty seven-year legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Harris County, and also in Polk County. Thereafter, she represented two law enforcement organizations as their in-house counsel and had a general civil and criminal practice for several years. Judge Bull presently presides over a variety of misdemeanor cases, and over one of three misdemeanor DWI Court dockets in Harris County. Judge Bull has received numerous awards, recognition and honors from various community organizations and law enforcement agencies for her innovative sentencing policies and various court-sponsored projects with local charities. She’s served on various committees for the Harris County Criminal Courts at Law, the Texas Center for the Judiciary and the HBA. She presently serves on the DWI Court Committee and Budget Committee (2nd Judicial Region ) for the Texas Center for the Judiciary, the Harris County Probation/ Pre-Trial Standing Committee, Chair of the Harris County DWI Court Committee and was recently elected Co-Presider of the Harris County Criminal Courts at Law. |
